Rare Diaoqi Lacquered Chinese Antique Console Table Arrow Tip Feet

Rare Diaoqi Lacquered Antique Chinese Console Table.  A Ming dynasty technique for creating thick, carved black lacquer by applying numerous layers over a canvas-covered (or linen-covered) wooden base.  The specific method of using textile (canvas/linen) on the base to prevent cracking is a crucial, foundational step in creating these heavy, durable, leather like lacquer coatings.  This is a rare peice also having arrow tip feet.  Note the underside shows a grass and adobe base, throughout the table sections you will notice the lien or canvas applied to the base wood.
