Arne Vodder Mid-Century armchairs with pivoting back support. A rare and early pair model B092 / 188F by Arne Vodder. Made by France & Daverkosen, later became named (France & Son). Model numbers changed with the name in 1957. These chairs where produced between 1955-56. Having an exposed solid teak frame supporting wrapped molded clam shell seat and back rest, with the backs rests having a unique brass-hinged pivot to allow for relaxing or sitting up right. The sculpted clam shell seat sits raised above the lower frame as to appear floating. Original plastic glides to the feet. This pair are in original condition. The original upholstery could use a refresh, lightly faded with one chair having two small holes in the back edge. Very comfortable with the unique back rest pivot design. Overall good condition we recommend new upholstery. Mid-Century chairs, Danish modern chairs,.
