Antique Chinese Sideboard

Spectacular Antique Chinese Provincial Sideboard.  A 19th century Antique Sideboard from the countryside of Shanxi province in China. The old growth Elm wood has a flowing grain prevalent with warm brown tones bringing the beauty and depth of the wood to the surface. Hand rubbed lacquer finish has captured the charm of patina revealing its age somewhat elegantly with a sophisticated country appearance. This piece would flatter many different décors and settings. Panel doors with curtain aprons to the drawer fronts add subtle details inline with the overall natural sensibility of this stunning sideboard. Inside the lower cabinet spaces there is a false bottom which was designed to be hidden storage. This hidden compartment area in found under the bottom shelfs of the inside of the cabinets. Excellent storage and serving capacity. In very good condition, strong, sturdy and solid, circa 1830-1840.
