19th Century Chinese Low Scroll Altar Table of the Qing Dynasty. A Low Chinese Kang Table with Cabriole Legs. A wonderful Antique table of solid wood as a scroll Altar table console. Used as a low console to present items of specail nature. This is a wonderful example following with solid cabriole one piece legs having a waterfall ends. Highly collectible small low Kang table of the Qing Dynasty in very good original condition. Kang tables played an important role in northern Chinese society. Smaller low Kang tables such as this one where typically placed on canopy beds, daybeds and couch-beds, to hold and display books, vases of flowers, incense burners and other objects. Also used on top of larger altar tables to raise and present shrines of special days and or holidays. These tables make wonderful additions to enhance décor, adding the warmth of antiques to any environment.
