American Folk Art Rocking Horse

American Rocking Horse, crafted from hand carved wood with a striking, hand-painted finish. The horse has a bold dappled pattern in black and cream over its body. Its mane and tail are black with brown highlights, carved with deep ridges to give the appearance of hair. Outfitted with a realistic, brown leather saddle and a thin leather bridle and reins, complete with small metal buckles. The base consists of two curved black wooden rails joined by a central platform. The rails are decorated with light brown accents, while the central base features a forest scene with tiger, girafe with the horse in a field, painted on the center base strutt. The horse is depicted in mid-stride with its mouth slightly open, showing carved teeth, and large, dark eyes that give it an alert expression. Supper strong solid for everyday use, supports 200lbs. This is still a childs size but larger scale toy. One of a kind American Folk Art. In very good orginal condition. Attributted to Toad Hall Makers for ABC Carpet and Home NY.
