19th Century Fujian Province Cabinet – Cypress Wood carved Scenes

Authentic 19th Century Cabinet from Fujian Province, renowned for its master woodworking traditions. Crafted from durable cypress wood, this piece beautifully showcases the regional artistry of the area. It features two large upper doors over a raised, open-framework base.  The intricate relief carvings on the upper panels are accented by traditional crushed shell work, creating a unique texture and subtle, natural shimmer.  The two main door inserts display hand-painted, dark lacquer scenes depicting traditional landscapes and flora.  The doors secure with a classic central brass or iron locking pin mechanism featuring fish-shaped pulls, symbolizing wealth and abundance.  The cypress wood exhibits a rich, deep reddish-brown finish that beautifully highlights the natural grain and historic age of the piece. Good antique condition with beautiful, authentic age wear. The original lacquer panels and carved details remain highly intact. Solid structural frame.
