19th Century Capital Carvings

A Beautiful set of Architectural Capital Corbels of the 19th century.  This design is noted as "Liewen"  Cloud & Thunder pattern.  Very auspicious symbolizing life giving rain and the abundance it brings.  Eternity an Continuity, the interlocking, continuous line also symbolizes infinity, eternity and the unending cycle of life, friendship, also Harmony and Balance this is very strong symbol.  As a geometric pattern, that reflects the Chinese philosophical principles of cosmic order, balance, and harmony, often representing the balance between heaven and earth.  These are very thick and heavy the wood is 4 inches thick intricately carved with exceptional detail.
